In his 2018 season debut last week, Elijah McGuire saw the majority of plays in the New York Jets' backfield as he was on the field for 54.5% offensive snaps. While Isaiah Crowell received more touches than McGuire -- 14-to-9 -- the two backs finished with the same number of yards (60). Poised for another week of passing down and change of pace work for New York, McGuire is worth a start in deep leagues against an AFC East rival, the Buffalo Bills.
Buffalo has given up over 100 yards rushing five times this season with the Indianapolis Colts' backfield racking up over 220 in Week 7. For the season, opposing running backs have collected the 10th-most fantasy points per game against the Bills and 4th-most rushing touchdowns. Passing backs have especially excelled, catching the eighth-most passes in the league (53).
Also helping McGuire's cause in fantasy this week is the quarterback change. With Josh McCown under center this Sunday for New York, the offense as a whole gets a slight boost, McGuire included.
