Coming off a season-high 7 targets for 5 catches and 55 yards, Curtis Samuel is in position to once again play a significant role in the Panthers offense this Sunday. Devin Funchess and his 6.8 targets per game are doubtful to play against the Seahawks after missing a pair of practices on Wednesday and Thursday. If he is unable to go, Samuel and D.J. Moore will head up the Carolina wideouts in Week 12.
Over the last three games, Samuel has seen at least four targets in each, while being given a couple of rushing attempts as well. Samuel has become one of Cam Newton’s go-to weapons in crunch time too.
The 2017 second-round pick has been targeted twice in the red zone also since Week 9, scoring on both attempts. Last week, he hauled in all five of his catches during the fourth quarter as the Panthers were trailing. Samuel’s touchdown tied the score with 9 minutes remaining.
The Panthers face a beatable Seattle secondary in Week 12 too as the ‘Hawks have given up at least 297 passing yards in three of their last four games.
