The tight end position has been a dumpster fire this season, but over the last few weeks, Jonnu Smith has emerged as one of the more reliable options out on the wire.
Over his last three games, Smith has collected 11 catches for 122 yards and two touchdowns. His 35.2 PPR points have him firmly in the top-10 of tight ends since Week 9. Smith is also coming off a career-best 8 targets in Week 11, which gave him a hefty 27.5% of the Tennessee Titans targets against the Indianapolis Colts. Facing the Houston Texans on Monday night, Smith is in line for another productive game in Week 12.
The Texans allow the 10th-most PPR points to tight ends (over 14 per game) and have surrendered the fifth-most touchdowns to the position (5) this season. They are also 6.5-point favorites over the Titans, leaving a likely pass-heavy attack for Tennessee. If that’s the case, it doesn’t matter if Marcus Mariota (he injured his hand on Sunday) or Blaine Gabbert starts on Monday Night as Smith sees enough snaps (80% of offensive plays this season) to keep his production rolling.
