If you are in a super deep league and are in a bind at the wide receiver spot, plugging Marcell Ateman into your lineup is not a bad dart throw for Week 13.
The trade of Amari Cooper and injuries to Martavis Bryant, Jordy Nelson, and Brandon LaFell have left the Oakland Raiders' receiving department short on bodies, forcing Ateman into action the last two weeks. In those two weeks, Ateman started and played over 88% of the offensive snaps. In Week 11’s win over the Cardinals, he led the Raiders in catches (4) and receiving yards (50). He followed that up with a massive 10 targets against the Baltimore Ravens last Sunday, giving the rookie 15 looks in two games.
Sitting as 15.5-point underdogs to the Chiefs in the projected highest scoring game of the week (55.0), Ateman should continue to see plenty of work. The Chiefs' secondary won't provide as much resistance as he felt in Baltimore last week. The Chiefs have allowed the ninth-most yards and fifth-most catches to receivers this season. Overall, their pass defense has given up 297.0 yards per game, the most in the NFL this year.
