It may have taken him almost the entire season to get going, but Robby Anderson is finally becoming a productive receiver again for the New York Jets.
Anderson had a stretch of great performances back in 2017 with Josh McCown at the helm. Before McCown went down a year ago, Anderson was on pace for more than 1,000 receiving yards, but he had yet to really get anything going with rookie quarterback Sam Darnold.
That's changed over the last three weeks. Anderson had seven targets in each of Week 13 and 14, and that was before the Jets caught the injury bug again. Down Quincy Enunwa and with an entirely banged up running back room, they really turned to Anderson in Week 15. He drew a team-high 11 targets and converted them into 7 receptions for 96 yards and a score. His performance was solid enough to land him a spot as the wee's fifth-highest scoring wideout in half-PPR leagues heading into Monday's game.
According to Josh Hermsmeyer's Weighted Opportunity Rating (WOPR), which combines a receiver's share of his team's targets and air yards into one metric, Anderson is among the top receivers in the league in terms of opportunity -- up with receivers like Keenan Allen, Michael Thomas and DeAndre Hopkins.
Anderson gets a favorable Week 16 matchup against the Green Bay Packers, who have surrendered the fourth-most fantasy points in the league to opposing wideouts. It's another smash spot for the deep threat, who is still somehow owned in only 29% of Yahoo leagues. He's one of this week's top waiver adds.
