The Broncos' passing attack is hard to trust in championship week, after averaging 190 yards the last 5 games. However, with a cupcake matchup on deck versus the Raiders this Monday, as well as the state of the tight end position this late in the year, Matt LaCosse a strong sleeper for Week 16.
The Raiders own the third-worst pass defense in the NFL, per our ranks, and have given up the most touchdown passes (32) in the league this season. Opposing tight ends have taken advantage of the soft defense, as they have scored more touchdowns against Oakland than 29 other teams. The Raiders have surrendered over 70 receiving yards per game to the position, the third-most in the league. Add it all up and tight ends have scored the most standard league points and second-most PPR points per game versus the Raiders this season.
In Week 2, the Raiders gave up 6 catches for 58 yards to Broncos’ tight ends. With LaCosse coming off a 4-catch, 43-yard performance in Week 15 -- good for a TE11 finish -- he is in line for another TE1 (top-12 finish) performance this week.
