There are very few things I love more in life than thoroughly mediocre rap music. As such, I listen to way more Tech N9ne than physicians would recommend. You can't really sing along with a lot of it because of the language, but at least he entertains me.
In his most recent album, Tech had a song with B.o.B and 2 Chainz called, "Hood Go Crazy." B.o.B's hook goes, "This the type of (fecal matter) that make the hood go crazy." Week 4 is where I start to relate to the deep thoughts B.o.B provokes with those words.
Now that we've logged three weeks in the books, sample sizes are starting to increase to levels where we can begin to draw some actionable conclusions. We can see the effects of offseason personnel changes and shift our impressions of various units based on new information.
This the type of fecal matter that make the nerds go crazy.
As a person who went to a school that makes shirts about how nerdy it is, I've embraced the fact that I fit in this group. I'll readily admit that a significant sample size is my Christmas, and Week 4 is when I finally get to play with the presents.
These presents come in the form of Net Expected Points (NEP), a numberFire-specific stat we use to quantify the efficiency of teams and individual players. In case you're new to the site, NEP is a measure of the expected points added or subtracted relative to average. If a player runs for a three-yard gain on 3rd-and-2, his team's expected points on that drive increase. If he notches a three-yard gain on 3rd-and-4, the expected points will likely decrease. NEP tracks the flow of the expected points over the course of a season, with the team stats being adjusted based on strength of schedule.
By looking at the NEP numbers of various teams, we can find matchups that appear juicy and ripe for the exploiting in daily fantasy for the upcoming week. I've got five here that caught my eye. Let's go through why I find them intriguing, and then hopefully we can get your bankroll to be the thing going crazy in Week 4.
