Charcandrick West made this list a couple weeks back following the devastating ACL tear that Jamaal Charles suffered. West promptly followed the recommendation up with a 9-carry, 33-yard rushing performance, including a fumble, that disheartened former Charles owners thoroughly. Many West owners promptly dropped him, assuming that at best he'd be locked in a time share with Knile Davis, and at worst, the fumble he lost at the end of the game in Week 6 would relegate him to no-name status once more.
Somewhat counter-intuitively, however, West was given the keys to Andy Reid's running game again and made up for lost time in Week 7 by taking care of business against the Steelers' top-ranked run defense to the tune of 22 carries, 110 yards, and a touchdown to go with it. Moreover, with those 22 carries, West compiled a 5.00 Rushing NEP, good for a very impressive 0.22 Rushing NEP per rush. With those kind of numbers against such a stout rushing defense, there's good reason to be optimistic about West's chances for the rest of the season.
While not available in a majority of leagues, West is still out there on the wire in a little less than one-third of ESPN leagues and a little more than one-third of Yahoo leagues, so if you're lacking depth at the position, this could be your last chance to grab a talented running back who figures to get a starter-worthy workload moving forward.
