It feels odd to explicitly recommend a running back who is clearly second on his team's depth chart and probably isn't more talented than the starting running back either, but Charles Sims is worth a waiver add, especially in PPR leagues. While he may not be racking up the gaudy stats that Doug Martin is, he is getting ample opportunity to put points up for your fantasy squad due to his participation on 44.5% of the team's offensive snaps as opposed to Doug Martin's 50.9% offensive snap participation.

Sims has gotten at least 10 carries in each of the last two games and is averaging 2 catches and 27 yards per game through the air thus far this season. And while the Bucs' offensive performance has significantly improved in recent weeks, there's still a reason to believe that the team could be playing from behind in a lot of games this season, thus necessitating a more competent passing-down back in those scenarios. And on that front, he easily bests Martin, compiling a 0.87 Reception NEP per target compared to Martin's 0.60 Reception NEP per target through Week 6.

At the very least Sims can help put up a nice floor in a bye-week pinch, but he could also serve as a high-ceiling hedge if Martin were to go down. Roster Sims if you have any dead weight lingering on your bench.
