10 Fantasy Football Sleepers for Week 9
Melvin Gordon has been a disappointment all season. Is this the week he turns things around?

Steve Johnson, WR, San Diego Chargers

After starting the season with touchdowns in back to back games, Steve Johnson has fallen off the fantasy radar. However with Keenan Allen being put on injured reserve, he will now move into San Diego's starting lineup.

With the ability to take on Allen's route tree and having already developed the trust of Philip Rivers, Johnson is a great option this week. San Diego has an implied team total of 26.5 points, and that combined with Chicago's 24th ranked pass defense -- in terms of Adjusted Defensive Passing NEP per play -- should lead to plenty of fantasy points to go around for this offense.

With Ladarius Green questionable this week and Gates still a bit dinged up, we should see Johnson receive a heavy workload between the 20's. While Gates generally dominates the targets in the red zone, San Diego did choose to utilize Johnson on wide receiver screens in the red zone earlier in the season.

Even if he doesn't reach the end zone, Johnson's projected volume should be enough to warrant a spot in your lineup this week.
