10 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Targets Heading Into Week 14
Looking to solidify your fantasy football rosters for the playoffs? We've got you covered.

Ameer Abdullah, RB, Detroit Lions

ESPN Ownership: 47%
Yahoo Ownership: 58%

Warning: Adding Ameer Abdullah could be frustrating and, at this point, is still a speculative venture. But looking at the opportunity that Abdullah and teammate Joique Bell have received in recent weeks, the balance of power in the ground rush portion of the Lions' backfield is starting to tip in Abdullah’s favor.

With at least 12 rushing attempts in each of the last three games -- compared to Bell's attempts never reaching more than eight in the same time frame -- Abdullah seems to have earned some trust back from the Lions' coaching staff after some critical early-season fumbles. And with the heartbreaking Hail Mary loss to the Packers on Thursday night, the Lions' playoff hopes are basically shot. This may give them the perfect opportunity to better integrate Abdullah into the offense as they prepare to make a run next season.

If Abdullah can continue to see double-digit carries, with the potential for that workload to increase, and with the team having been eliminated from the playoffs, he could provide high upside on your bench in case the worst happens to one of your starters. As such, if you have dead weight lingering, grab Abdullah in case his role expands in the final quarter of the season.
