Darren Sproles may be worth a speculative add to your roster given the role he inhabited in Week 13 against the Patriots. That role? The lead back, actually, as he accrued 15 rushing attempts and four catches, totaling 100 yards from scrimmage, all the while returning a punt for a touchdown.
Sproles actually seems to be a better fit than Demarco Murray in Chip Kelly's system, as a 0-to-60 speedster, a beneficial talent to possess for running backs taking handoffs out of the shotgun and running east-to-west. And Sproles, with his 19 touches on Sunday, dwarfed Murray's 8 touches, with which Murray could only accumulate 24 yards on the ground.
While he may not get more touches than Murray next week, the Eagles do have a soft matchup against the Bills' 27th ranked rush defense, and one that's been bad against defending pass-catching backs. Grab Sproles to see if his increased role in Week 13 is predictive of upcoming weeks, while Murray struggles and Ryan Mathews remains in concussion protocol.
