Because the Chicago Bears sit as a distant third in the NFC North standings with a 5-8 record, Jay Cutler is quietly having one of the better seasons of his career. In 13 games this season (he missed Week 3 due to injury), Cutler is averaging 252.3 passing yards per game to go along with a 63% pass completion rate and a 16:7 touchdown-to-interception ratio. To top things off, his 0.152 Passing NEP per drop back actually ranks him as the 10th most efficient signal caller in the league with at least 100 pass play attempts.

On Sunday, Cutler continued this strong play by completing 19 of 31 attempts for 315 yards and 2 touchdowns against the Redskins' 17th-ranked passing defense.

With Cutler's exceptional play thus far and a fairly easy schedule ahead of him to close out the year -- he and the Bears face the Vikings (15th), Buccaneers (20th), and Lions (29th) in the final three weeks -- Cutler becomes an excellent waiver wire add for those looking for a fill-in starter at the quarterback position going into Week 15.
