Drafter Comments
"Atlanta has lacked a viable starting tight end since Tony Gonzalez retired. Hooper immediately takes over as the starter and could be the number-two option in the passing game for the Falcons. To me, while Hunter Henry is a better player, Hooper is the clear top rookie dynasty tight end because of the situation. I could have gone wide receiver after going running back with my first pick, but I thought the value here outweighed any wide receiver I'd be reaching for." -- Joseph Nammour

"Hooper is a good receiving tight end who excels after the catch. He should slide in nicely into Atlanta's offense. I do think Hunter Henry is the better player, however. As always, don't expect anything from a tight end in his first season." -- Austan Kas
"The Falcons are desperate for receiving options to complement Julio Jones, and that means Hooper could be in line for quite a few targets rather quickly despite the position he plays. Gonzalez averaged 7.5 targets per game playing with Matt Ryan, and the only real receiving weapon in his way is Mohamed Sanu. I'm not big on drafting tight ends in rookie drafts, but in a weak class, I can definitely get behind this selection." -- Anthony Amico
