12 Players to Avoid in Fantasy Football Drafts This Year
While everyone wants to know who will be the next big sleeper in fantasy football, it's just as important to find out which players we should be avoiding.

Carlos Hyde, RB, San Francisco 49ers

Carlos Hyde is being drafted at the beginning of the fourth round, and it simply doesn't make sense.

His most memorable moment from last season is the show he put on during the late Monday Night Football game during the opening week of the year. Aside from his performance in the prime-time spotlight, his fantasy production in the 2015 season was quite poor. In Weeks 2 through 7 of last season, he averaged 50 rushing yards, 3.3 yards per carry, and had only 1 touchdown.

Injury concerns are also a reason to be down on Hyde this season. His season ended early last year because of a stress fracture in his foot that required surgery. According to SportsInjuryPredictor.com, Hyde is a high risk candidate for another injury in the upcoming season.

His competition for the third-down running back role is a concern, as well. Shaun Draughn had a five-game stretch last year where he averaged six targets and five receptions per game after Hyde was out for the season. Hyde caught more than two balls in a single game last year in two of his seven contests.

Despite the hiring of Chip Kelly, game flow does not project to be in Hyde's favor, either, as the San Francisco 49ers are currently an underdog in 13 of their games with the remaining 3 being a pick 'em, according to lines released from Cantor Technology. Playing from behind should mean less snaps for Hyde as they try to play catch-up with Draughn catching passes out of the backfield.

It all adds up to Hyde being overvalued.
