Players to target: Ryan Spooner, David Krejci, and David Backes
If you have been reading this column, some of the things said will sound similar to other lines recently highlighted.
For example, the Boston Bruins' possession stats are awesome (54.8 Corsi For %), they are playing at a high pace (65.8 Corsi For per 60 minutes), and will continue to go overlooked until they explode, which will be soon.
The St. Louis Blues do a good job of shutting down opposing teams for the most part, but are prone to giving up big games with opponents scoring five or more goals in five games this year. This is mostly due to the inconsistent play of Jake Allen, who owns a below-average 77.5 High Danger Save %.
If this is a night where Allen struggles, the second line for Boston should get on the board as they will all get power play minutes against a team that is short-handed over 3.5 times per game. They will avoid both Vladimir Tarasenko's and Paul Stastny's lines for the most part, making them poised for a big night.
