FanDuel Price: $4,400
Look, obviously Paul Goldschmidt is amazing. There's no denying he's been one of the best players in fantasy this season. But when you're paying over $4,000 for the most expensive first baseman, you're going to want to be pretty sure of your investment.
Despite the Arizona Diamondbacks getting a hefty 4.87 implied team total, opposing pitcher Jon Gray is no slouch. Gray is making his first start since mid-April, so it's hard to get much out of looking at his stats from this season. But last year the former elite prospect had a 3.72 SIERA and 26.0% strikeout rate, hardly numbers you want your high-priced bat going up against.
As good as Goldschmidt has been, you're better off spending the big bucks in a safer matchup than this on such a large slate.
