The tough hops have been extra tough on Kevin Pillar, whose month-long funk in the batters box (.206/.214/.340 in June) comes on the back of some mighty poor batted-ball luck. Indeed, the fleet-footed Toronto Blue Jays outfielder has a .232 batting average on balls in play (BABIP) in June compared to a .296 mark for his career.
Granted, a batted-ball mix that's heavy on fly balls (40.3%) and soft contact (25.3%) tends to depress BABIP. Even so, with the outfielder's FanDuel salary near the minimum and weak competition like Blaine Hardy, Zack Wheeler, and Sonny Gray on the Week 14 schedule, daily players won't have to pay up in the hopes that Pillar can leg out some hits and cause havoc on the base paths.
