3 Under-the-Radar MLB FanDuel Plays for 7/5/18
Don't forget about Nelson Cruz in an enticing spot against Jaime Barria. Which other players may fly under the radar?

Nelson Cruz, OF, Seattle Mariners

FanDuel Price: $4,200

Between other more alluring hitting spots and playing on the West Coast, the Seattle Mariners could go overlooked in spite of an appealing matchup versus Jaime Barria. At first glance, Barria has reasonable enough numbers, but he's allowing a whopping 1.62 home runs per nine innings off a 40.2% hard-hit rate and 38.7% ground-ball rate. Surprisingly, it's the right-handed bats doing much of the damage, posting a monstrous .435 xwOBA against Barria.

We normally think of using the ageless Nelson Cruz against southpaws, but he's doing just fine against right-handed pitching, producing a .409 xwOBA and .253 ISO. Cruz is also coming off a red-hot June in which he posted a 50.6% hard-hit rate and .400 ISO. It's safe to say this guy has plenty left in the tank.
