FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Helper: Thursday 7/5/18
On a Fourth of July main slate that promised offensive fireworks, we were left with mostly duds, including a surprisingly quiet night at Coors Field. However, we needn't worry about Coors tonight, which could be a relief considering an expensive Justin Verlander laps the entire pitching field on Thursday. This isn't quite the hitter-heavy slate we've seen the rest of the week, but we can still expect good things from the Washington Nationals and Minnesota Twins.
Our daily helper is available every day to analyze FanDuel's main slate and help give you a starting point when you're building lineups. Be sure to also incorporate our great tools into your research process. Whether you're looking for daily projections, the latest starting lineups and weather, or batting and pitching heat maps to find the best matchups -- we've got you covered! And don't forget to take a listen to The Solo Shot podcast with Jim Sannes, who breaks down the MLB daily fantasy slate each day.
On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel main slate.
Pitchers to Target
High-Priced Pitchers
Justin Verlander ($12,200 on FanDuel): We've had some murky pitching slates this week, but tonight's top choice is abundantly clear. Justin Verlander not only brings an impressive 3.02 SIERA, 31.2% strikeout rate, and 5.2% walk rate into tonight, but he gets a high-upside matchup against the Chicago White Sox. The Pale Hose hold a 25.0% strikeout rate versus righties, and are only getting a 2.75 implied team total on the road. Particularly on a lighter hitting slate than we've seen of late, there's zero reason to stray from Verlander in cash games, and you should probably be overweight in tournaments as well.
