4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 5/25/16
Mikie Mahtook hit second in his season debut for the Tampa Bay Rays a few nights ago, and if he's there again, a matchup with a struggling lefty will put him in a tremendous spot.

Jason Castro, C, Houston Astros

FanDuel Price: $3,000

Last night was the first time this season that Jason Castro has been in the top two-thirds of the Houston Astros' order as they moved him up to sixth. That's big for DFS because Castro has kicked things up a notch against right-handed pitching this year.

Not only is Castro's hard-hit rate against righties this year up to 43.5% from 36.5% last year, but he is suddenly drawing walks 18.3% of the time. Guys with those types of numbers are going to present you with an intriguing combo of both floor and upside. Castro has also increased his fly-ball rate to 43.2%, further pushing that ceiling up the ladder.

His big shortcoming is a troublesome 32.3% strikeout rate, but a matchup with the Baltimore Orioles' Tyler Wilson can cure a lot of ills. Wilson has only struck out 5.9% of the 171 lefties he has faced in his career while walking 8.8%. Wilson doesn't give up a lot of home runs, but with everything Castro has added to his game this year, he should still be up for consideration on your rosters.
