Probable Starts:
Tuesday 5/31 against the San Francisco Giants
Sunday 6/5 at the Los Angeles Dodgers
Matt Wisler has been surprisingly effective over the past month -- posting a 2.25 ERA and 1.00 WHIP over his five most recent starts. He's been going deep into games, too, averaging 7.2 innings per start during that span and recording five-straight quality starts. He has limited strikeout upside, but there is certainly something to be said about the consistency he has shown.
A look at Wisler's BABIP and xFIP suggests some regressions is almost certainly coming, but it might not come in two favorable matchups this week. Both games will take place in pitcher-friendly parks (23rd and 28th in ESPN's Park Factor over the past three seasons), and both will come against teams in the bottom-half in wOBA against right-handed pitching.
Wisler doesn't have huge strikeout potential, but he has a relatively high floor in a two-start week. Give him a long look in weekly formats.
