5 Under-the-Radar Daily Fantasy Baseball Hitters for 6/16/16
Trevor Plouffe is almost always underowned, and tonight should be no different in a plus matchup.

Salvador Perez, C, Kansas City Royals

FanDuel Price: $3,100

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

Wilson Ramos, Matt Wieters, and Brian McCann should be the chalk at catcher today with Salvador Perez being largely ignored in a matchup against Justin Verlander, who is thought to be the best pitcher on the slate.

Why You Should Use Him:

Perez has really turned it on recently, hitting .464 over his past seven games with 4 home runs. He'll look to stay hot in tonight's matchup with familiar foe, Justin Verlander.

Verlander has been very good recently, but he has always struggled against Perez, allowing the Royals' catcher to hit .447 in 44 career at-bats against him.

Verlander is also one of the rare pitchers who posts nearly identical splits against right- and left-handed batters. In his career, he has a 3.80 xFIP against lefties and 3.79 against righties. Perez also has split-neutral career numbers, as he has hit righties very well throughout his career.

The matchup with Verlander is enough to keep Perez out of cash game considerations, but it's impossible to ignore him in tournaments with the way he has been swinging the bat recently.
