5 Under-the-Radar Daily Fantasy Baseball Hitters for 7/6/16
Xander Bogaerts will be a popular play tonight, but an excellent matchup makes Brad Miller an intriguing pivot. Who else makes for a solid contrarian play?

Mark Teixeira, 1B, New York Yankees

FanDuel Price: $3,000

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

Mark Teixeira is almost never a popular option. With Paul Goldschmidt, Edwin Encarnacion and Hanley Ramirez all in good matchups, that isn't likely to change tonight.

Why You Should Use Him:

Teixeira has made up for lost time, posting a .278 batting average, .361 ISO and .639 slugging percentage since returning from injury. He's coming off of back to back multi-hit games, including a double-dong game on Sunday.

Tonight's matchup against righty Miguel Gonzalez will give him every opportunity to keep slugging. Gonzalez has a 4.88 SIERA on the year and has never had a SIERA below 4.34 in five professional seasons. Gonzalez has also posted a higher xFIP against lefties (4.54) than righties, which bodes well for Teixeira, a switch-hitter who will be hitting from the left side against Gonzalez.

Teixeira has hit better from the left side in his career and should be a big part of the Yankees reaching their projected run total of 4.4. Give him a look in tournaments.
