FanDuel Price: $3,900
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
Due to all the elite first base options, Albert Pujols is rarely a popular option. I don't expect that to change today. Whoever ends up in the starting lineup for Colorado and Philadelphia will draw some attention, as will Edwin Encarnacion and David Ortiz, who are both in decent matchups.
Why You Should Use Him:
Pujols has been red-hot over the past two weeks, posting a .425 wOBA, .593 slugging percentage, and 41.2 percent hard-hit rate. His matchup with Ubaldo Jimenez tonight offers him a great chance to stay hot.
Jimenez's 6.95 ERA on the year is the highest among starting pitchers with at least 80 innings pitched by a full point, with the next highest coming in at 5.91. Not good -- unless you're a Pujols owner, of course.
Pujols has hit lefties slightly better in his career but has posted stronger numbers against right-handed pitching for three consecutive seasons. With his Angels projected for 4.7 runs against Jiminez at Camden Yards tonight, Pujols is a good bet for production. He's worth targeting in any format tonight.
