FanDuel Price: $6,800
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
CC Sabathia's most recent outing was the first time in seven starts that he didn't give up at least four runs. During that span, he has averaged just 17 FanDuel points per start.
Why You Should Use Him:
This play is all about the price and the matchup. I'm not going to pretend that Sabathia is a quality pitcher at this point in his career. However, coming off of an impressive outing against the Astros, there is reason for optimism that he can crush value at his price tonight.
Sabathia will face the Mets tonight, who have struggled against left-handers on the season, ranking 23rd in wOBA and 11th in strikeout rate against southpaws. What makes this matchup especially juicy is the litany of injured players for the Mets. With Lucas Duda, David Wright, Jose Reyes, Asdrubal Cabrera, Yoenis Cespedes, and Juan Lagares all expected to miss tonight's game, New York will be left with about three regular starters for tonight's matchup. Of the remaining players, the only right-hander who poses any sort of threat against Sabathia is Wilmer Flores.
Vegas sees the Mets struggling to produce much offensively in this one as well, projecting them for just 3.95 runs. Sabathia has pitched so poorly recently that he isn't worth considering in cash formats. However, he is a very appealing play in tournaments, where his salary saved opens up a lot of different options when constructing your lineup.
