It seems that half of the fantasy football community is celebrating and feeling justified with Christine Michael being atop the Seattle Seahawks' depth chart for Week 1, and the other half is lamenting about Thomas Rawls' slow return from injury. Whichever side you happen to be on, it's really hard to ignore Michael in daily fantasy this week.
In limited action (54 carries) last year, Michael was fairly efficient on the ground. His 0.03 Rushing NEP per carry ranked 13th among the 72 running backs to see at least 50 carries on the season.
He is the top running back on the Seahawks' depth chart this week. There have been mixed reports all offseason about Rawls' progress in recovering from the broken ankle that cut his 2015 season short, but most recently Seattle coach Pete Carroll said he doesn't want to rush Rawls back.
The Seahawks are the biggest favorites of the week with a -10.5 spread against the Miami Dolphins. Not only does being big favorites mean that the Seahawks running backs will likely be working with a positive game script, but it also means that they won't probably won't need to risk re-injury with Rawls.
