While it was only one week, Ty Montgomery certainly seemed like the early clubhouse leader to take the lion's share of snaps out of the Green Bay Packers' backfield with workhorse Eddie Lacy placed on injured reserve. Knile Davis barely saw the field, registering 5 snaps out of 87 offensive plays but does make for a preliminary waiver add in case he gets eased into the offense. Don Jackson did start to see some playing time before injuring his hand. He avoided any breaks, so his timeline is something to monitor.
Montgomery logged 60 snaps (69%), touching the ball 19 times for 126 all-purpose yards, and it seems as though he and Randall Cobb will be the primary ball carriers, at least in the short term.
The Packers will face the Atlanta Falcons in Week 8, who have allowed the ninth-most fantasy points to opposing running backs.
