The 6 Best NFL Passing Seasons Since 2000
A changing of the guard among elite NFL quarterbacks is inevitable. That doesn't diminish the greatness of this era's passers, though.

2. Tom Brady, New England Patriots (2007)

Pass NEP: 259.40

You would think that a season over 5,000 yards would be enough for a quarterback's top season of his career. It is for most NFL signal-callers, but Brady isn't most quarterbacks. In 2007, Brady had the best season of his career by many different measures -- not only NEP.

In what was his eighth season, Brady posted the highest completion percentage (68.7%) of his career to go with 4,806 yards and a career-best 50 touchdowns. He threw a touchdown on 8.7% of his passes with an average of 9.4 adjusted yards per attempt and a quarterback rating of 117.2 -- all career-highs.

Crazy enough, the Patriots again lost to the Giants in the Super Bowl as they failed to cap off a perfect 16-0 regular season.
