2. 2001 St. Louis Rams

They were "the greatest show on turf." With the help of Marshall Faulk, Kurt Warner, along with his receivers Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce, led the NFL in both points and yards.

Warner threw for 4,830 yards, completed 68.7% of passes, of which 36 went for scores. Faulk caught nine, Holt grabbed seven and Bruce collected six. Faulk also rushed for 1,382 yards and 12 touchdowns. There's no disputing their offensive greatness, but it didn't amount to anything more than 16 wins.

In a Super Bowl meeting with the Patriots, the Rams lost 20-17. Brady threw for only 145 yards and a touchdown in his first full year and first Super Bowl appearance.
