Re-Drafting the Defensive Backs from the 2010 NFL Draft Using Advanced Analytics
Has Eric Berry held down the top spot, or has Earl Thomas taken it from him?

3. Devin McCourty

CarAV: 47

Unlike most of the guys from his class, Devin McCourty hasn't been confined to one position in the secondary. In his seven-year career, the former Rutgers' standout has played both corner and safety for the New England Patriots, the team that drafted him back in 2010.

Regardless of position, McCourty has been very productive as a defender. He has accumulated 418 tackles, 71 pass defenses and 19 interceptions in 107 NFL games.

As a corner in his rookie year, the then-23-year-old put up a career-best AV of 11 with 17 pass defenses and 7 interceptions. And, in addition to his status as a two-time Pro Bowler, McCourty is a two-time Super Bowl champion under Bill Belichick.
