Among the 74 receivers with at least 70 targets in 2016, three of them posted a Reception NEP per catch of 1.27 (which tied for 15th among the 74 wideouts).
One was Jordy Nelson, one of the most efficient receivers in football year after year in the sixth-ranked passing offense by Adjusted Passing NEP per play. One was Brandin Cooks, who played alongside Drew Brees and the third-ranked passing offense by our metrics.
You know the third by now. It was John Brown, who played on the 20th-ranked passing offense by our metrics. Brown's 10.46 yards at the catch per reception was a top-20 rate among players with at least 30 catches, and Smokey did that while overcoming a concussion and sickle-cell issues.
Brown's ADP places him as the 42nd receiver off the board (he was 35th last year even with the health concerns). He finished as the WR26 in 2015 and was 30th in PPR points per game. Buy him while you can.
