5 NFL Stats to Know Through Week 8

Alex Collins' 47.50% Rushing Success Rate Ranks 5th Among RBs With 25+ Carries

With a career-high 113 rushing yards on 18 carries in Week 8, Alex Collins became the first Baltimore Ravens running back to rush for at least 100 yards in a game since Terrance West had 113 of his own in Week 4 of the 2016 season.

Among all 67 running backs with 25-plus carries this season, his fifth-ranked 47.50% Rushing Success Rate dwarfs his that of his teammate, Javorius Allen, whose 34.34% Rushing Success Rate ranks 45th in that same group.

Similarly, Collins' 0.02 Rushing NEP per play ranks 12th among that same group, while Allen ranks 32nd at -0.06 Rushing NEP per play. That efficiency has led Collins to the ninth-most (478) rushing yards of any player this season. And every player ahead of him has seen at least 50 more carries.

Player Carries Rushing Yards YPC TD
Kareem Hunt 146 763 5.2 4
Le'Veon Bell 194 760 3.9 5
Ezekiel Elliott 164 690 4.2 6
Jordan Howard 162 662 4.1 4
Todd Gurley 145 627 4.3 5
Leonard Fournette 130 596 4.6 6
Melvin Gordon 131 526 4.0 4
LeSean McCoy 137 521 3.8 3
Alex Collins 80 478 6.0 0

No other running back with at least 25 carries this season is averaging 6.0 yards per carry. In fact, all but six others are averaging less than 5.0 yards per carry this year.

Collins has received just 50.00% of the Ravens carries over the past three games, but workload is likely to increase, as he has out-gained Allen by 122 yards on 19 less carries already this season.
