Yes, Thomas Rawls -- or frankly any Seattle Seahawks running back at this point -- doesn't elicit much excitement in 2017. But Eddie Lacy was forced out of Sunday's game with a groin injury, and considering Seattle plays on Thursday, there's a reasonable chance Lacy misses at least the next game, which would ensure a bigger workload for Rawls.
With Lacy sidelined, Rawls managed 39 yards on 9 carries, and even caught 2-of-2 targets for another 31 yards. While nothing spectacular, it's an encouraging performance when extrapolated over more touches, particularly given the woeful state of the Seahawks running game since Chris Carson went down.
Thursday's matchup against the Arizona Cardinals isn't a slam dunk, and the Seahawks' offensive line continues to be a concern, but if Lacy is out, we can reasonably expect 12-15 touches for Rawls. Don't expect any miracles -- Rawls has a mere 160 total yards over six games -- but he's worth a shot if you're hurting at running back in deep formats.
