7 Deep Fantasy Football Sleepers for Week 16
Mike Davis is primed for a significant role in the highest-projected scoring game of the week. What other low-owned options are worth a start in Week 16?

Wendell Smallwood, RB, Philadelphia Eagles

Yahoo! Ownership: 15%

Yes, Wendell Smallwood is a thing again.

After just 2 touches in his last 4 games, the running back went off for 57 total yards and 2 touchdowns on 12 touches in the Philadelphia Eagles' upset of the Los Angeles Rams in Week 15. Last Sunday night, he played 20 snaps, just 4 short of team-leader Josh Adams. It was a surprising shift, as in Weeks 11 through 14, Smallwood was on the field for only 11 total snaps. However, with Corey Clement done for the year, it appears Smallwood has moved back into a prominent role in the Philly offense.

The significant usage is not unfamiliar for him, either, as in Weeks 6 through 9, Smallwood was on the field for 55% of offensive plays and racked up an average of 13.3 touches per week.

Even against a tough Houston Texans defense, which allows the fifth-fewest fantasy points to running backs, Smallwood can be a useful play in Week 16, as he appears to be the favorite for goal-line work. His two touchdowns last week both came from within 10 yards of the end zone. That, combined with the chance for double-digit touches in a game the Eagles are favored to win, make him worth a flier this Sunday.
