Though Miami didn't get a win in Denver on Sunday, what they did was pretty impressive. They've been a very under-the-radar team all season long, and actually come in with the best defense in the NFL according to our metrics. They didn't exactly hold Peyton Manning and company, but Ryan Tannehill's offense showed that they can produce when the team needs them too. Tannehill ended the game against Denver with a 6.21 Passing NEP total, while the backfield for Miami played above expectation as well.
Though the Dolphins don't have a great shot at winning the division, they're a top-five team analytically that will be very interesting to watch as we approach the playoffs.
