Kevin Kiermaier, OF, Tampa Bay Rays

FanDuel Price: $2,900

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

With a Coors game on tap and the Rays projected for just the 12th-highest team total, don't expect Kevin Kiermaier to be a highly sought after option tonight.

Why You Should Use Him:

Kiermaier has really been heating up at the plate over the past week, posting a .451 wOBA along with a .615 slugging percentage. His modest power-speed combination makes him an intriguing high-upside option at such a cheap price. He has two games of 43-plus FanDuel points over his past 10 starts. Last night, he dropped 49.9 FanDuel points in a 3-hit game in which he launched a homer and stole 2 bases.

Kiermaier will look to stay hot in tonight's lefty-righty matchup against Edwin Jackson. Jackson has pitched well since coming to the San Diego Padres, posting a 3.62 ERA in five starts, but his 5.13 SIERA suggests there is regression coming. Jackson has also struggled against lefties in his career, posting a 4.07 xFIP against righties and 4.45 mark against lefties.

Kiermaier has seen his career wOBA rise from .270 against lefties to .331 against righties while seeing similar boosts to his numbers across the board. If Tampa Bay puts up a large run total against Jackson, Kiermaier should be a big part of it while hitting from the second spot in the lineup. He's a viable value play in any format tonight.
