Steven Wright will take the mound for the Boston Red Sox tonight, and that will likely mean big things for Kansas City Royals hitters.

Wright owns a 4.40 SIERA on the year, to go with the 4.60 he posted last season and his 4.32 career mark. He has been especially susceptible to left-handed hitters, with a 4.54 xFIP on the season and a 4.47 for his career, and that makes this an excellent matchup for Eric Hosmer.

Hosmer is having a bit of a down year from the dish but is still slashing a solid .288/.359/.445 against right-handed pitching with a solid .346 wOBA. He has been making strong contact, with a 37.8% hard-hit rate against righties this season, and he will likely give Wright a hard time today.
