A lot of the things that made Max Scherzer attractive yesterday -- most notably a matchup with the Philadelphia Phillies, one of the worst offenses in baseball -- are also working tonight for Gio Gonzalez. The big difference is Gonzalez isn't Scherzer, but he's still a solid option on a short slate.

Gonzalez has decent but uninspiring numbers: a 4.06 SIERA, 22.3% strikeout rate, and 8.0% walk rate. He's been good in August, where he owns a 25.2% strikeout rate. The game is at Citizens Bank Park, which ranks first in home run factor, but Gonzalez's respectable 45.9% ground-ball rate should help offset the homer-happy environment.

Despite playing in a hitters' park, Philadelphia ranks last in home wOBA (.281), last in home wRC+ (72), and 26th in home strikeout rate (23.5%).
