4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Studs to Target on 9/8/16
Jaime Garcia, P, St. Louis Cardinals
FanDuel Price: $8,800
It's a pretty funky pitching slate tonight. With just six games to choose from and no true slum-dunk options, we're left with a bunch of arms who would probably be decent second-tier choices on a usual slate.
With that said, Jaime Garcia, our top-ranked hurler, is the best of the bunch for his home matchup with the Milwaukee Brewers.
Milwaukee has a solid .317 wOBA, but they're a different team away from hitter-friendly Miller Park. On the road, the Brewers' wOBA drops to .305, and they boast the second-highest road strikeout rate at 24.8%.
Garcia, per usual, has been a mixed bag lately. He fanned 8 in 6 innings of 2-run ball against the Cincinnati Reds in his last outing, but in his two previous starts, he allowed 11 earned runs and 4 jacks over 11 innings.
The St. Louis Cardinals' lefty has been much better at home. At Busch Stadium, he is limiting hitters to a .286 wOBA with a 21.4% strikeout rate, compared to his .368 wOBA and 18.0% strikeout rate on the road. Milwaukee's implied total of 3.38 is the lowest of the night, and the Brewers' propensity for striking out gives Garcia some enticing upside.
