Ranking Roberto Clemente's 5 Best MLB Seasons
1. 1967
Contrary to what the MVP Award and most people would say, 1967 was the best season of Clemente's career. His 7.7 WAR certainly says as much.
While his defensive game dropped down to -3.7 defensive runs above average, the 32-year-old added a career-best 50.4 offensive runs above average (OFF). He accomplished that via 23 dingers and 110 RBI, along with stealing 9 bases in his 13th season.
Going next level, Clemente's .357 average and .400 on-base percentage translated to a .418 wOBA and a personal-best 170 wRC+. There was no MVP at the end of the season, but he did receive his seventh Gold Glove and the last of his four career batting titles.
