4 Under-the-Radar Daily Fantasy Baseball Plays for 4/18/17
Brett Anderson, SP, Chicago Cubs
FanDuel Price: $7,600
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
Despite an early injury that delayed him from taking his turn on Opening Day, Max Scherzer takes the ball Tuesday and hasn't showed any signs of slowing down. He and Yu Darvish are the most expensive pitchers on the slate, and they should generate the highest ownership.
Brett Anderson of the Chicago Cubs makes his third start of the season, and he'll face a Milwaukee Brewers team that's racked up a .364 wOBA (fifth-best) against left-handed pitchers so far this season. Considering Anderson's current 11.1% walk rate in 2017, it won't be shocking to see him get overlooked by many DFS players.
Why You Should Use Him:
The Brewers have put up some impressive hitting totals against lefties, but that's not to suggest that they're without warts, either.
Against southpaws, the Brewers strike out a healthy 29.0% of the time, and while Anderson's been giving freebies quite a bit, he's also notched a 9.4% swinging-strike rate despite a strikeout rate that has settled in at just 13.3% so far.
