4 Under-the-Radar Daily Fantasy Baseball Plays for 4/18/17
Ender Inciarte, OF, Atlanta Braves
FanDuel Price: $2,600
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
It was undetermined as to how reigning NL Cy Young winner Max Scherzer was fare following a knuckle injury, but he's responded by striking out an impressive 33.3% of opposing hitters. The Atlanta Braves are hot right now, but with someone like Scherzer looming, it shouldn't be surprising that their implied team total of 3.26 runs is the second lowest on the slate.
Ender Inciarte has hit four home runs in his last five games, but this is the kind of matchup where the masses just stay away completely.
Why You Should Use Him:
While Scherzer has been nasty so far this year, it's worth noting that surrendering home runs has been an issue for him in the past. He allowed 1.22 homers per nine innings (HR/9) last year, and that number jumped up to 1.50 when he's facing left-handed hitters.
Inciarte isn't known for his power -- he's never recorded a full season with more than six homers -- but he's hot right now and is hitting the ball very hard. His 32.6% hard-hit rate is nearly 10 percentage points higher than what he finished with last year, and his 31.7% fly-ball rate would also be a career high if this trend continued through the end of the season.
