Both of the top-priced pitching options are excellent plays on Tuesday's slate.

Yu Darvish doesn't match Scherzer in terms of safety as the Texas Rangers are much smaller favorites (-128 moneyline) than the Nats, but this game's low 7-run over/under still leaves the Oakland Athletics with a small 3.32 implied total.

Returning from Tommy John surgery in 2016, Darvish didn't look like he had missed a beat. He racked up a 31.7% strikeout rate, which actually topped the 30.1% he had posted in his last season in 2014, and it was also better than his strong career average of 30.2%.

The A's are sporting the league's eighth-highest strikeout rate (23.3%), and the potential for elite strikeout numbers tonight serves both to give Darvish some massive upside and also give his floor a big boost. Pitching at a pitcher-friendly park in Oakland doesn't hurt, either.
