Victor Martinez, C, Detroit Tigers

Going back to the Tigers' dreamy matchup against Pelfrey, Victor Martinez's upside is not at all captured by his price tag.

Pelfrey is especially bad against left-handed bats, allowing a .367 wOBA in 2015 and a huge .394 wOBA in 2016. If it that .394 wOBA belonged to a single batter, it would've ranked top 10 among qualifying hitters last season.

Martinez's production doesn't reflect it yet, but he has been making some excellent contact this season with a 43.5% hard-hit rate. His 38.8% hard-hit rate from 2016 is currently his new single-season career high.

A switch-hitter, he has a slightly better batted-ball profile against right-handed pitching over his long career, and the way he's hitting the ball this season gives him some serious upside against Pelfrey.
