4 Under-the-Radar Daily Fantasy Baseball Plays for 5/2/17
Zack Cozart, SS, Cincinnati Reds
FanDuel Price: $3,000
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
It's turning into a bit of a broken record, but Trea Turner continues to see extremely high rates of ownership as the Washington Nationals continue scoring runs at an insane clip. Their .372 team wOBA leads all of baseball and it's 30 points higher than the second-place New York Yankees.
One player off to a strong start that's been overlooked is Zack Cozart, and lineup construction has been a big part of that. He's batted mostly out of the seven-hole for the majority of the year despite a healthy .421 wOBA.
Why You Should Use Him:
Cozart has been hitting second in the lineup since the weekend, which means plenty of opportunities against Tyler Glasnow and the Pittsburgh Pirates bullpen -- while Glasnow has posted an impressive 20.2% strikeout rate, he's also given out free passes at a healthy clip (15.5% walk rate).
Those walks have led to a poor 5.16 SIERA on the young season, and the Reds currently sport a healthy implied team total of 4.47 runs on the evening.
Combine all of this with a matchup in Great American Ballpark, which has ranked fourth-best in home run factor over the last three seasons, and Cozart is in a great spot for production.
