2. 2009

WAR: 6.6

In 2009, the 35-year-old Jeter appeared ageless. In a total of 153 games, he hit .334 with an on-base percentage of .406 with 18 bombs and 66 RBI in 634 at-bats.

As he got into the latter stages of his career, the fact that he not only sustained but improved upon his numbers was wildly impressive. Over the course of the season, Jeter produced 29.6 offensive runs above replacement and 12.2 defensive runs above replacement.

Jeter's 12.2 defensive runs above replacement is 2.1 better than his previous career-best. He accomplished this by committing just 8 errors in 553 chances and over 1,260 innings, all from his shortstop position.

After all was said and done, Mr. November had won his fifth and final World Series ring, fourth Silver Slugger, and fourth Gold Glove.
