4 Under-the-Radar Daily Fantasy Baseball Plays for 5/16/17
Brian Goodwin, OF, Washington Nationals
FanDuel Price: $2,000
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
The New York Yankees continue to score runs at a high clip -- and are currently sporting a robust implied team total of 4.87 runs against Jason Hammel of the Kansas City Royals. So, their group of outfielders should get plenty of attention.
Just called up last week for his second cup of coffee in the big leagues with the Washington Nationals is Brian Goodwin. Not only will he be overshadowed by the Yankees, but his own teammates will do the same, including superstar Bryce Harper.
Why You Should Use Him:
Goodwin is a bit of an unknown due to his lack of major league experience, as he only has 54 plate appearances under his belt, but that doesn't mean he isn't a great play.
Through 492 plate appearances last year in Triple-A, Goodwin posted a strong .354 wOBA while ripping off 14 homers and collecting 15 steals. Across multiple minor league stops throughout his career, he's posted that power-speed combo repeatedly (52 homers and 76 steals).
He will face Chad Kuhl on Tuesday, who has surrendered a .497 wOBA to left-handed hitters so far this season.
Recently, the Nats have been batting Goodwin second against lefties -- and that poses a great opportunity.
