Danny Duffy, SP, Kansas City Royals

Much like his opponent, Jordan Montgomery, Danny Duffy has teased at some increased strikeout potential with a 12.0% swinging-strike rate, in spite of his decreased velocity. The good news is he did show improved velocity his last time out against the Baltimore Orioles, letting up just two runs in seven innings with six strikeouts.

Still, his strikeout rate rests at 16.7% and a 4.75 SIERA doesn't inspire a ton of confidence. Furthermore, this isn't the best time to test whether those whiffs will begin materializing against a hot New York Yankees team with a 117 wRC+ against lefties.

Duffy was a popular season-long property going into the season, so he may yet prove to be a solid fantasy asset. But tonight he's an easy pass in DFS.
