4 Under-the-Radar Daily Fantasy Baseball Plays for 5/24/17
Nick Castellanos, 3B, Detroit Tigers
FanDuel Price: $2,800
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
While he doesn't get to slug in his home digs on Wednesday evening, there's a lot to like about Nolan Arenado. He'll face a pitch-to-contact hurler in Jeremy Hellickson -- who's racked up an 85.4% contact rate and only a 7.3% swinging-strike rate -- at homer-happy Citizens Bank Park, which ranks fifth in home run factor over the last three seasons.
An option who's struggled a bit more at third base is Nick Castellanos of the Detroit Tigers. With only a .220 batting average and a .295 wOBA, he's not likely to be a popular option.
Why You Should Use Him:
Castellanos' marks so far this season don't jump off the page, but there are some silver linings within them -- he's sporting the best hard-hit rate of his career at 48.8%, and his .162 ISO would also be one of the better marks of his career.
He'll get to face Charlie Morton, who's allowed a .375 wOBA and a .528 slugging percentage to right-handed bats so far this year.
Castellanos can give lineups some salary relief in a pretty nice matchup, allowing you to spend up at other positions.
